How was the Day of the Friend born?

Friend's Day is celebrated on this date in honor of July 20, 1969: The day man reached the moon. But what does one have to do with the other? The person in charge of everything is Enrique Ernesto Febbraro ; dentist, psychologist, writer, teacher and musician, among other occupations, who was born in Buenos Aires.

While Febbraro was watching Neil Armstrong's moon landing on television, he came up with the idea of sending a thousand postcards around the world that same day to celebrate Friend's Day ; initiative that I had been thinking about for a long time. Thus, when he heard that the moon landing was a gesture of friendship from the earth to the universe, he had the idea that this could be the reason to start celebrating Friendship Day in Argentina.

In 1979, the government of the City of Buenos Aires decreed that every year the Day of the Friend be celebrated on this date.
