Anniversary of June 15 in Argentina
Biochemist Day
Biochemist's Day is celebrated on June 15 in Argentina because during this date the birth of Juan Antonio Sánchez , promoter and creator of the profession of Biochemistry with strong scientific and professional bases at the University of Buenos Aires, is remembered. In this way, the date was instituted in his honor by the Argentine Biochemical Assembly in 1961. Thus, this anniversary is celebrated every June 15 to pay tribute to Dr. Sánchez and celebrate all professionals in this science.
Day of the book
On the other hand, Book Day is also celebrated on June 15 due to the celebration of the " Book Festival " which took place on June 15, 1908, however it was not until 1924 when the national government declared the Book Festival official through decree 1,038. Years later, in 1941, through a ministerial resolution it was proposed to call this commemoration as Book Day . In Argentina there are two dates dedicated to books; this and the World Book Day that is celebrated on April 23.
