Why is the Biologist's Day celebrated in Argentina?
The Biologist's Day is celebrated in Argentina on June 27 because on a day like this but in the year 1812 the circular was issued with which the first official act in the country related to this profession would take place.
This day the Museum of Natural History began through the resolution of the Triumvirate proclaimed by Bernardino Rivadavia , although it would begin to function until 1826, since its realization stopped until 1823 when Rivadavia, as Minister of Martín Rodríguez , resumed the project by locating it in the rooms of the Santo Domingo Convent.
Later, in his presidency, Rivadavia continued with the project, consolidating it by appointing the Italian Carlos Ferraris as the first manager of the Natural History Museum. Over time, the museum was transformed into the "Bernardino Rivadavia" Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences, which is located in the Centennial Park of the Argentine capital.
