Bandoneon Day is celebrated thanks to the fact that on April 13, 2000, the City of Buenos Aires decreed that this event be commemorated by means of Law 366. A few years later, on July 11, 2005, the Congress of The Nation declared the Day of the Bandoneon as a national celebration by law 26,035.
Bandoneon Day is commemorated in honor of Aníbal Carmelo Troilo , alias Pichuco , who was born in the city of Buenos Aires on July 11, 1914 . He was a distinguished bandoneonist, composer, and conductor of both.
This rule was promoted and promoted by Francisco Torné, grandson of Zita Troilo, Pichuco's wife, and by the poet Horacio Ferrer, friend of the musician and president of the National Academy of Tango.
Pichuco, with her orchestra was the first to start experimenting with new sounds and themes, which was totally revolutionary and gave Argentine tango a new experience.
