Why is Kinesiologist's Day celebrated in Argentina

April 13 is the Day of the Kinesiologist in our beloved Argentina . This special date aims to recognize and honor the hard work of these professionals in our country. This anniversary of the Argentine calendar has been celebrated since 1950; year in which it was officially decreed throughout the national territory.

The kinesiologist is the professional specialized in human movement, specifically in the maintenance of the physiological capacity of the individual and the prevention of its alterations. This intervenes both in recovery and in rehabilitation when there is a problem that makes movement difficult.

In addition, the kinesiologist can use his knowledge to give it a therapeutic, preventive use or to increase the performance of a person's movement, which is useful, among other things, for high-level athletes.

How was the Kinesiologist Day born in Argentina?

The Day of the Kinesiologist was born to remember the creation of the School of Kinesiology at the National University of Buenos Aires on April 13, 1937; initiative made by Octavio Fernández who dictated the first official class of the race on September 14, 1938.

Thus, a few years later in 1950, the then president of Argentina, Juan Domingo Perón, would sign Decree 8648 by which he designated that every April 13 the Day of the Kinesiologist in Argentina would be celebrated throughout the national territory.

In this way, this special day is born that today we celebrate and take the opportunity to send a congratulatory greeting to all kinesiology professionals in their day.
