Origin of Nutritionist Day
The Nutritionist's Day was born in 1974, the date since it is celebrated in commemoration of the birth of Dr. Pedro Escudero , an Argentine doctor and pioneer of nutrition in the country. During the 30s, Escudero, created the specialty in Argentina, when founding the Municipal Institute of Nutrition; the current School of Nutrition of the University of Buenos Aires, and also the School of Dietitians.
The impact was so great that its guidelines and documents served for the development and foundation of similar institutes throughout Latin America.
